Week 11
Psalm 30: Joy
I’m reminded of a worship song by the band Jesus Culture titled “Your Love Never Fails” that used this Psalm to shape the lyrics:
"You stay the same through the ages,
Your love never changes,
There may be pain in the night,
But JOY comes in the morning.”
Beautifully shaping the promises of God that he is there, is faithful, is steadfast, and that even in your darkest times (the pain in the night), that there is a light that will follow (the joy in the morning) because of who God is if we put our trust in Him.
Many of us (absolutely including myself) find it easier to pray, talk to God, to ask for help, forgiveness, and more when we are in the dark, when we are in pain, hurting, broken, and sad. And God is there for us in those times, BUT, God is also there in the good, the joyful, the happiness as well, and it’s just as important for us to make the effort to Praise Him (in the morning, the light) as it is to seek help when we are in the dark.
I encourage you to think about how you can alter your prayer life, your communication with God, to not just come to him with your problems, but be faithful in Him and remember to pray for the blessings, the good, the joy, with gratitude.
Join the group for some fantastic discussion!
