Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that leaving your children with anyone isn’t something anyone does lightly, and we want to answer any questions you might have before you decide to join us for one of our services. Get answers on some of the frequently asked questions we get, and please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Q: How do I check my child in to their class on Sunday?

A: In Crosstown, we take the security of your children seriously. Please stop by one of our Family Kiosk Stations. You may either enter your phone into the search engine on one of the iPads or scan your family’s barcode. Once your family’s information appears on the computer screen just select the children you’d like to check in and indicate which services and classrooms they will attend.

If you are new, a Connection Team member can assist you in starting an account for your family in The Courtyard.

Q: Can I stay with my child in their class?

A: While any parent is welcome to join their child in class, we find that children generally adjust well and participate better after parents leave the classroom. Our teachers are trained to engage children in classroom activities quickly.

Q: What if there is a problem involving my child during the service?

A: In the event that we need to contact you, we will do so by flashing the three digit identification code listed on your check-out tag on the screen in the auditorium. If your code should appear, please exit the auditorium quietly and go to your child’s classroom where a director will meet you to explain the situation. You may be contacted during the service if your child is injured, unable to be comforted for an extended length of time, soils himself badly or becomes ill. If possible, discipline problems will be handled in the classroom or by a director.

Q: Do you screen your staff?

A: Every children’s staff person has submitted a ministry application form and had a background check run. The Director of Children has also met with each applicant and checked their personal references.

Q: What will my child do in their classroom on Sunday?

A: In every classroom, our teachers are focused on presenting Biblical truths in ways that children can understand. We are using “Hands-On” Bible curriculum in our preschool classes. Our elementary program utilizes a curriculum we produce. This curriculum is designed to walk kids through the Bible book by book. It encourages kids to be studying their Bibles and applying God’s Word to their lives.

Both our preschool and elementary curricula help children to experience a Bible truth, whether through interactive storytelling, skits, sensory stimulation or crafts. We also have a music time every Sunday where our children have the opportunity to worship the Lord through song. And, of course, through games and ice-breakers our children get to play and be active in our learning environments.

Q: How can I help make Sunday mornings a good experience?

A: Please help us by communicating with us about your child. Make sure they are healthy and have everything they may need every Sunday (diaper bag, jacket, medicine, etc.). Let us know about things like potty-training, allergies, or any other applicable problems.

Q: How can I get involved?

A: There are many ways to be involved as a parent in the children’s arena. We need teachers, helpers, worship leaders, greeters, office volunteers, and event volunteers. Impacting young lives is so exciting and we would love to have you join our team!
